Boxwood / Buxus sempervirens is an evergreen shrub suitable for creating low hems and a little bit higher green hedges. It calciphilous plant requiring humid and nutrient. It grows well in the shade and or in partly shaded soil, at optimal soil moisture and air it will prosper even in direct sunlight. Its most preferred common use is for hedges heights of 0.5 – 2 m.

Illumination requirements: sunny or partly shady site
Moisture requirements: not too dry soil
Soil conditions: neutral to strongly calcareous fertile soils
Hardiness: hardy, but it is recommended to plant it in a protected habitat
Maintenance: We cut in the end of June, the second additional cut can be done in August. Young plants should be cut twice annually, in March and in June, but always after late frosts.
